ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the match officials for this week’s semi-finals of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, set to be played in Guwahati and Navi Mumbai.
Eloise Sheridan and Jacquline Williams, both members of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Umpires, will take charge of the first semi-final between England and South Africa in Guwahati on Wednesday, 29 October.
Sheridan previously officiated when the two sides met in the group stage, a game England won convincingly by 10 wickets, and also stood in South Africa’s victory over Pakistan.
Williams, meanwhile, has been a regular presence throughout the tournament, umpiring two matches apiece involving both semi-finalists, including South Africa’s wins over India and Bangladesh, and England’s win against India and loss to Australia.
The match will also feature Vrinda Rathi as third umpire, Claire Polosak as fourth umpire, and GS Lakshmi of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees as the referee.
Attention will then shift to Navi Mumbai for the second semi-final between reigning champions Australia and hosts India on Thursday, 30 October.
South Africa’s Lauren Agenbag and England’s Sue Redfern will serve as on-field umpires for what promises to be a high-intensity clash.
Agenbag is familiar with the Indian side, having officiated their group-stage games against Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
Redfern, meanwhile, was in the middle when Australia and India met earlier in the tournament, a match remembered for Alyssa Healy’s scintillating century that powered Australia to the highest successful run chase in women’s ODI history.
They will be supported by Kim Cotton as third umpire, Nimali Perera as fourth umpire, and Michell Pereira as match referee.
