ICC Confirms Umpires for T20 World Cup Super Eights

ISLAMABAD: The ICC has confirmed the match officials for the Super Eights stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with a host of experienced umpires appointed for the key fixtures.

Rodney Tucker and Paul Reiffel will stand in the middle for the opening Super Eights clash between New Zealand and Pakistan in Colombo on Saturday. Allahudien Paleker has been named TV umpire for the contest, while Sam Nogajski will serve as fourth umpire.

Tucker will again officiate Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka in Kandy on 28 February, alongside Nogajski as his on-field colleague. Nogajski is also scheduled to umpire England’s meeting with Pakistan at the same venue on 24 February, partnering Nitin Menon.

Adrian Holdstock features among the Sri Lanka-based officials and will take the field with Ahsan Raza for England’s encounters with Sri Lanka on 22 February and New Zealand on 27 February in Kandy. Meanwhile, Paleker and Asif Yaqoob will oversee Sri Lanka’s fixture against New Zealand in Colombo on 25 February.

Super Eights

In Group 1, India’s opening Super Eights match against South Africa on 22 February will be officiated by Richard Kettleborough and Chris Gaffaney, with Alex Wharf as TV umpire and Chris Brown as fourth umpire.

Gaffaney and Wharf will combine again for India’s final Super Eights match against West Indies in Kolkata on 1 March. Wharf and Kettleborough will also take charge of India’s clash with Zimbabwe on 26 February.

Richard Illingworth and Jayaraman Madanagopal will officiate Zimbabwe’s meeting with West Indies in Mumbai on 23 February. Shahid Saikat and Kumar Dharmasena will oversee West Indies versus South Africa on 26 February, with Dharmasena later joining Illingworth for South Africa’s fixture against Zimbabwe on 1 March.

Ranjan Madugalle, Andrew Pycroft, Richie Richardson and Javagal Srinath have been appointed as match referees for the stage.
