ISLAMABAD: The triumphant team of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 will be rewarded with a grand prize of $2.24 million from a lavish total purse of $6.9 million, as announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday.
In a statement, the ICC announced that the runners-up will take a $1.12 million, while the semi-finalists who fall short will each take home $560,000, reflecting a remarkable 53 per cent increase compared to the 2017 tournament.
Victorious moments in the group stage will net teams $34,000 apiece, while those finishing in fifth and sixth positions will each secure $350,000. The seventh and eighth-placed teams will receive $140,000, and all eight contenders will be guaranteed a minimum of $125,000 just for participating.
Major global cricket event
Set to be the first major global cricket event in Pakistan since 1996, the tournament is scheduled to unfold from February 19 to March 9, with matches taking place in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, India will play its matches in Dubai.
Eight teams will battle it out in two groups of four, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah said that this event embodies the zenith of ODI cricket and underscores the cricketing body’s unwavering dedication to nurturing the sport.
