ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced 26 officials for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, to be played in the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies.
According to a press release 20 umpires and six match referees will officiate the ninth edition of the international event.
The mega event will see 20 teams playing 55 matches for 28 days, at nine locations in the biggest ICC T20 World Cup.
The experienced umpires include the 2023 winner of the David Shepherd Trophy for ICC Umpire of the Year, Richard Illingworth, as well as Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena and Paul Reiffel.
Jayaraman Madanagopal, Sam Nogajski, Allahudien Paleker, Rashid Riaz and Asif Yaqoob, will also make their debuts.
Ranjan Madugalle, who oversaw the 2022 Final will also be returning to the game. Jeff Crowe, the format’s most capped referee, and Andrew Pycroft, who is one match away from 150 T20Is will also be part of the team.
Allahudien Paleker, Chris Brown, Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena, Adrian Holdstock, Michael Gough, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nitin Menon, Sam Nogajski, Jayaraman Madanagopal, Ahsan Raza, Paul Reiffel, Langton Rusere, Rashid Riaz, Shahid Saikat, Rodney Tucker, Joel Wilson, Alex Wharf, and Asif Yaqoob will be the empires for the mega event.
Andrew Pycroft, David Boon, Jeff Crowe, Javagal Srinath, Ranjan Madugalle, Richie Richardson and will be match referees.
