IAEA, KSA Discuss Cooperation in Various Fields of Science

RIYADH: Officials of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) from Mawhiba and experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency discussed ways to further enhance cooperation in the field of nuclear science, Arab media reported on Tuesday.

According to the Saudi Press Agency the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) received a delegation from the IAEA.  Mawhiba Secretary General Dr. Aamal Al-Hazza was also present on the occasion. 

The IAEA delegation was briefed on the achievements and programs of Mawhiba.  They also exchanged views over the role of Mawhiba to explore the talented youth in several scientific sectors.

On the occasion, the Deputy Director General and head of Nuclear Science Department Dr. Najat Mokhtar discussed the significance of IAEA through its steps in peaceful applications of nuclear in the fields of environment, agriculture, food, health, clean water, safety, security, and enhancing science and technology.

The two sides also exchanged views to further enhance cooperation to provide sponsorship programs for talented people in the fields of nuclear science, nominating students from the Mawhiba to register in training programs at the world body, as well as scholarships in areas supported by the IAEA.
