- There is no fixing this, another GHF worker says
- This needs to be put an end to: former security guard
- Says never witnessed such a level of “brutality and use of indiscriminate and unnecessary force”
ISLAMABAD: A retired US Special Forces officer has revealed why he resigned from his work with US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution centres.
A BBC report cited retired US Special Forces Anthony Aguilar as saying that “I witnessed the Israeli Defence Forces shooting at the crowds of Palestinians.”
He added that in his entire career, he has never witnessed such a level of “brutality and use of indiscriminate and unnecessary force against a civilian population, an unarmed, starving population”.
Separately, a former US soldier who was employed to work within the Gaza aid system approved by Israel has claimed he saw security personnel shoot at Palestinians at a distribution centre.
“Sadistic death trap”
The unnamed American man, who served for 25 years in the US army, has alleged he witnessed force being used against unarmed innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, according to Sky News.

“There is no fixing this, this needs to be put an end to,” he said in a video aired by Israeli free-to-air TV station Channel 12.
It comes as the United Nations criticised a US-backed aid distribution scheme run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation that has been supplying aid, claiming it is a “sadistic death trap”.
The GHF denied that civilians came under fire at a distribution site.
