BUDAPEST: A recent representative survey conducted by Cofidis revealed that the average Hungarian dog owner spends a minimum of HUF 190,000 annually on their pet.
The expenditure includes a monthly cost of HUF 12,000 on dog food, with an additional HUF 47,000 allocated for various pet products, grooming, and veterinary expenses.
The survey indicates a one-third increase in dog owners’ spending compared to the previous survey conducted five years ago.
It is noteworthy that approximately four in ten Hungarian households have a dog as a part of their family.
