SRINAGAR: Locals said that things have become worse after the unilateral action of Modi’s government to abrogate the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on August 5, 2019, Western media reported Saturday.
The locals told DW that India’s illegal move which is widely condemned is an attempt to make a demographic change in the disputed region.
A senior politician blasted New Delhi for curbing the rights of Kashmiri people, adding that a case has been lodged in Supreme Court against the Indian government’s attempt to change the status of IIOJK.
Muhammad Yusuf Tarigami said that uncertainty and chaos are prevailing in the disputed territory and there is no sign of relief for the people of Kashmir.
Radha Kuma, an Indian political analyst while talking to German media pointed out that the situation in IIOJK is much worse.
After the Indian illegal move, thousands of young educated Kashmiri people have lost their jobs.
Rayees Ahmad, a resident of Srinagar said despite being a science graduate he is forced to drive an auto-rickshaw. He added the young Kashmiri people have lost their respect and dignity.
Pakistan condemns Indian move to abrogate IOK status
Pakistan has always raised a strong voice against the gross human rights violation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and announced to observe ‘Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir’ (Day of Exploitation in occupied Kashmir) on August 5 to mark the Indian government’s move of scrapping special status of the valley.
On Friday ahead of ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan briefed the Islamabad-based diplomatic missions on the latest developments in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan recently also strongly lambasted India for confiscating the properties of Kashmiri human rights in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
