RAWALPINDI: A huge fire broke out after a pipeline of an oil refinery exploded in a residential area of Dhamial village in Rawalpindi city on Monday morning.
Rescue officials said as per the preliminary information, the huge fire engulfed a house in the residential area. Six emergency vehicles including three fire tenders arrived to put out fire. However, no casualties were reported as the area’s residents were safely evacuated from their homes.
Thick smoke could be seen billowing above the affected houses. The rescue officials said more than 12 rescue officials took part in the firefighting operation.
The pipeline’s bursting spilled oil in the area’s street spreading foul odour. An additional contingent of police was also called in the area.
