RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) Eng. Abdullah Alswaha has awarded Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) for introducing its Saudi Made servers in collaboration with Alfanar, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
Vice Minister Eng. Haitham Al-Ohali and CST Governor Dr. Mohammed Al-Tamimi attended the Digital Technology Forum.
The initiative enhanced Saudi Arabia’s leadership position in technology manufacturing and boosted the efficiency of the national infrastructure in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The recognition stems from CST’s role in improving the value of local tech products, promoting the position of local tech companies and products locally and internationally, and increasing the percentage of tech product exports to priority markets.
HPE has launched its first Saudi Made servers in collaboration with Alfanar as part of its strategy to increase server production for local and regional clients and provide advanced Saudi-made solutions which will enhance the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub to meet the needs of local and regional tech markets.
HPE’s locally manufactured products will feature the “Saudi Tech” logo, which is a national identity under the Saudi Made Program aiming to help local tech products and promote their position locally and internationally in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Saudi Exports Development Authority and the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority.
