KARACHI: For the festive occasion of Diwali, the Sindh government has declared a holiday for the Hindu community.
The provincial government has announced that November 13 will be a holiday for the Hindu community to celebrate the Diwali festival. The Hindu community in Pakistan will joyfully and enthusiastically celebrate Diwali, the festival of colors, on November 13.
According to the notification, the upcoming Monday has been declared a holiday for the Hindu community to observe the ‘festival of lights in all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative jurisdiction of the Sindh government.
Previously, the provincial government had declared a public holiday on Iqbal Day, observed annually on November 9. This decision was communicated to all government departments through an official notification, making the day a public holiday in Sindh.
