ISLAMABAD: The Indian Hindutva government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is denying space to political leaders, activists and members of civil society by repeatedly harassing and arresting them on fake charges under black laws, Kashmir media service reported.

The political experts and analysts said the Indian government has formulated a cruel policy of seizing properties, lands and sacking Kashmiri government employees. A process is underway to deploy non-Kashmiris in all the institutions of IIOJK in a planned manner so that the control of Kashmiris over these institutions could be ended, they added.

They said Indian troops and police personnel, during their continued cordon and search operations were harassing, terrorizing, summoning and arresting young Kashmiris in different areas of the occupied territory. They added that 70 civilians including Hurriyat activists were detained last month in IIOJK.

Political experts and analysts said that the Indian authorities were implicating Hurriyat leaders, journalists, human rights defenders and even ordinary Kashmiris in fake cases to suppress their demands of right to self-determination.

Attempts to destroy Muslim identity of IIOJK

Experts warned that the Modi regime is furthering the Hindutva agenda of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh to reduce the Muslims from a majority to a minority, KMS reported.

They were of the opinion that the Indian government was using its notorious agencies like National Investigation Agency (NIA) and State Investigation Agency and its Units mostly led by non-Kashmiri Hindutva mindset as a tool to intimidate the Kashmiris into submission. Illegally incarcenerated Kashmiris lodged in small cells in Indian jails and IIOJK were denied basic facilities including legal representation, medical treatment and hygienic food, they lamented.

They added mass arrests, raids and search operations in IIOJK indicate Modi regime’s frustration to subdue the Kashmiris.
