NEW DELHI: A Hindu priest has openly questioned India’s allegations against Pakistan following the recent Pahalgam attack, criticising the Indian military’s failure to prevent the incident despite its heavy presence in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
In an interview with Indian media, the priest compared the Indian security forces to watchmen and questioned their role during the attack that left 27 people dead.
“If an incident happens at my home, who do I question first? The watchman. Where were you when this happened?” he said. “But here, no one is questioning the so-called watchmen. They claim to be protectors, yet no one challenged the attackers, no resistance was offered, and the culprits left peacefully.”
The priest criticised Indian authorities for quickly blaming Pakistan without any credible investigation.
He questioned how India was able to reach conclusions so swiftly, yet failed to prevent the attack despite maintaining heavy security in the region.
He also mocked Indian threats to stop the flow of the Indus River waters to Pakistan, calling them impractical.
“Experts say there is no system in place to stop the Sind River. Even if construction started today without a day’s delay, it would take at least 20 years and enormous resources,” he said.
The priest condemned the inflammatory rhetoric broadcast by Indian television anchors, accusing them of misleading the public with false narratives about Pakistan’s future water scarcity.
His remarks come as tensions between Pakistan and India continue to escalate following the Pahalgam incident.
