BEIRUT, Lebanon: Hezbollah has released an audio recording of its slain leader, Hassan Nasrallah, killed by an Israeli airstrike on September 27, as Israel’s military operations continue to escalate in both Lebanon and Gaza.
The audio message, which was shared over two weeks after his death, urged Hezbollah fighters to defend their land, people, and values.
In the meantime, the conflict has intensified, with Hezbollah launching approximately 115 projectiles into Israeli territory. The Israeli military also captured a Hezbollah fighter emerging from a tunnel in southern Lebanon, marking a significant point in their ground offensive.
The situation further escalated as UNIFIL peacekeepers accused Israeli troops of violating their positions in southern Lebanon. UNIFIL reported that Israeli tanks forcibly entered one of their posts, causing damage and injury to peacekeepers.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu suggested that the UN peacekeepers should be relocated, claiming their presence provides cover for Hezbollah fighters. Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned this suggestion, arguing it violated international norms.
On the diplomatic front, Lebanon called for an immediate ceasefire as airstrikes from Israel hit villages and civilian infrastructure, resulting in thousands of casualties and mass displacement.
