TEHRAN: A high-ranking Hezbollah commander was reportedly killed in an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon. The unnamed commander, described as playing a crucial role in managing Hezbollah’s operations in the southern region, was reportedly killed in an Israeli raid targeting his vehicle.

The news has heightened concerns about the potential escalation of conflicts beyond Gaza, raising fears of spillover into Lebanon and other neighboring areas. The security source called the strike “a very painful” event, underscoring the sensitivity of the situation.

The Lebanese Hezbollah movement, in response to the reported assassination, issued a statement confirming the martyrdom of one of its commanders in southern Lebanon. The statement did not provide additional details.
