ISLAMABAD: Heera Ashiq pairing with Yousuf Khalil beat Nael Qureshi and Hamid Israr 2-1 in a three sets thriller of the Men’s Doubles event of the 8th Benazir Bhutto Shaheed National Tennis Championships 2022 at Islamabad Tennis Complex Islamabad on Wednesday. The final score-line was 7-6 (5), 2-6 and 10-7.
The matches of the 1st and 2nd rounds for different categories were played including Men singles, Under 18 Boys, Under 14 Boys, and Men doubles. In the first-round match of the men doubles, top seed Waqas Malik and Mohammad Abid defeated Muzzamil Murtaza and Muddassir Murtaza in straight set 6-4, 7-6 (5).
The second set went very exciting, and both pairs hold their serves brilliantly and did not allow opponents to overcome the scenario but in the tiebreak, Muzzamil and Mudassir made unforced errors at crucial stages where they lost the grip on the game and were defeated in straight sets.
