`ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has alerted the public about fraudsters posing as HEC representatives, who make scam calls claiming to provide degree attestation and verification services.
These imposters demand high fees, far exceeding HEC’s actual charges, and operate through fake social media pages to lure victims.
HEC clarified that it does not authorize any agents or third parties for document attestation. Official degree attestation can only be done through HEC’s online portal at eservices.hec.gov.pk or hec.gov.pk. The Commission advises the public to avoid engaging with unauthorized callers or online profiles offering HEC services and to report fraudulent calls to telecom operators or the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
For financial fraud cases, individuals can also contact the State Bank of Pakistan at [email protected].
These precautions help safeguard personal information and prevent financial loss amid growing scams targeting degree attestation seekers.
