HEC Announces SEE-Law for Law Graduates from Foreign Universities

ISLAMABAD: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the Special Equivalence Examination (SEE-Law) for graduates of law from foreign universities.

The SEE-Law exam is essential for appearing in the country’s bar entrance test, i.e., Law-GAT.

SEE-Law Eligibility Criteria

All graduates with a degree of bachelor from international institutions and universities and are recognized by the Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) are eligible to apply for SEE-Law.

Exam Type

SEE-Law will contain 200 Multiples Choice Questions (MCQs) distributed equally across five sections.


Syllabus

The SEE-Law exam will be conducted in the following subjects:

  1. Constitution of Pakistan
  2. Specific Relief Act
  3. Civil Procedure Code
  4. Qanoon-e-Shahadat
  5. Criminal Procedure Code


Exam Date

Special Equivalence Examination (SEE)-Law will be conducted on 18 December 2022.


How to Apply

• For online application, candidates are advised to visit the Higher Education Commission’s Education Testing Council (ETC) portal.

• Candidates with ‘incomplete’ or ‘saved’ applications will not be considered, and their applications will be rejected after the deadline. Only candidates with complete and submitted applications will be considered.

• Candidates are required to pay a test fee of Rs. 5,000. The test fee is non-refundable, and candidates can submit the fee in Account No. 01127900567403, Account Title: Higher Education Commission, Habib Bank Limited (HBL), Branch Code: 0112.

• Candidates can download the challan of fee from the Education Testing Council (ETC) portal during registration. Candidates must upload paid scanned fee challan with HBL’s stamp.


Deadline

The last date to apply for online application is 7 December 2022. After 7 December, no applications will be accepted.


Other Details

• As per the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), a 50% score is compulsory to pass the Special Equivalence Exam-Law and be eligible for Law-GAT.

• There will be five attempts for candidates to pass the exam.

• Higher Education Commission (HEC) conducts this exam twice a year or quarterly.
