ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the 75 National Top Talent Scholarships Program for students in Pakistan to obtain admission to MS and PhD studies in foreign countries.
According to official sources, the Government of Pakistan has announced 40 Ph.D. scholarships and 35 MS scholarships for students in Pakistani and Azad Kashmir to study in the world’s 25 top-rated universities (QS or Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings only).
The sources further informed that the scholarships will be granted on the provision of proof of confirmed admission in desired universities and in the selected subjects only.
Scholarships
The desired candidates must have a confirmed/unconditional admission/enrolment in any of the world’s top-rated 25 universities (QS/THE) in selected subjects.
It needs a minimum requirement for MS Scholarships: BS/BE/Master’s or equivalent to that of 16 years of proper education in related fields of study.
Whereas for Scholarships in Ph.D.: MS/MPhil/ME or equivalent to that of 18 years of education in related fields.
In both cases, the applicant must have a maximum of one 2nd Division throughout his/her career prior to the final degree.
Requirements
The candidate also needs to have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 and 3.75 out of 5.0 for the students in the semester system or 1st Division in the annual system.
The upper age limit on the closing date of the application should not exceed 40 years for full-time regular faculty learners of the public sector universities/degree awarding institutions/colleges and members of public sector institutions while 35 years for all others.
The applicants can apply online via HEC e-portal, i.e., https://eportal.hec.gov.pk.
The scholarships will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis and the candidates need to fulfill the prerequisites of the host university to secure admission which may include taking international entrance tests like GRE, TOEFL, etc.
The application process will be terminated if found with misrepresented/incorrect information at any level,
The successful students will have to sign up to a bond with HEC to serve for a time period of three years (for MS scholarship) and for a period of five years (for PhD scholarship) soon after completion of his/her studies.
The applicants are advised to go through all details of the program before filling/submitting the online application form.
Any query regarding amendment will not be entertained after submission of online application.
