ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the “Coastal Region Higher Education Scholarship Programme for Balochistan” and is inviting students from the coastal areas of Balochistan province to apply.
This scholarship opportunity is available for outstanding students from Gwadar, Lasbela/Hub, Awaran districts of Balochistan, and Kech (Turbat) who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in HEC-recognized public or private sector universities or degree-awarding institutions (DAIs) nationwide. It covers a wide range of academic disciplines.
To be eligible, applicants must have a domicile or local certificate from Gwadar, Lasbela/Hub, Kech (Turbat), or Awaran District of Balochistan.
They should have completed 12 years of education with a minimum of 50 percent marks in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or their equivalents.

Applicants should have completed their SSC and HSSC or equivalent education at a college or institute located within one of the specified districts in Balochistan. Students already enrolled in a BS program for a maximum of one academic year/session before the scholarship announcement are eligible to apply.
Applicants must be 22 years old as of the closing date, and those currently benefiting from any other HEC/Government scholarship are not eligible. Furthermore, applicants must meet HEC’s and the relevant university’s admission criteria, and individuals awaiting their results are not eligible to apply.
The selection process for the scholarships will be based on merit and district quotas. Shortlisting will rely on the online information and data the applicants provide.
