ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and Microsoft have maintained their long-standing collaboration and signed the Education Transformation Agreement (ETA), which intends to advance technological education in the country.
Meanwhile, the launch of the Imagine Cup competition, Founders Hub, and AI Skilling for students took place, providing a platform for participants to showcase their innovative projects and entrepreneurial pursuits. Hassan Nasir Jamy, the Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication, attended the ceremony.
Jibran Jamshad, Country Principal Officer and regional Education Lead at Microsoft, said, “In the era of AI, education stands at the threshold of unprecedented transformation. The collaboration between Microsoft and HEC through the Education Transformation Agreement is a testament to our commitment to fostering innovation and equipping the youth with the skills needed for the future.”
While delivering a speech, Hassan Nasir Jamy, Federal Secretary, said, “Embracing Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence is not just a choice; it’s a strategic imperative in our rapidly advancing world. The ceremony’s highlight was the official signing of the Education Transformation Agreement, marking the continuity of a transformative journey in education for Pakistan.
Chairman HEC, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, conveyed his positive outlook on the collaboration, affirming, “The partnership with Microsoft signifies a dedication to integrating technology into education and cultivating an atmosphere of innovation. Through this collaboration, we are empowered to establish a dynamic and adaptable learning environment for our students.”
