LONDON: The UK has recorded its hottest day of 2023 so far, with provisional data indicating a high of 33.2 degrees Celsius at London’s Kew Gardens, Western media reported on Saturday.
The current year’s last high was 32.6 degrees Celsius, reached on Thursday.
UK’s weather service said that Saturday was also the sixth day in a row the nation has recorded a temperature of more than 30 C.
The country’s Met Office added last week that the UK had experienced its 8th warmest summer since 1884, with the month of June the hottest on record in countrywide.
In July 2022, Britain had recorded its hottest-ever day when temperatures topped the 40 degrees Celsius mark for the first time.
Temperatures appear to have peaked for today with 33.2 °C being recorded at Kew Gardens 🌡️
