Health Department Reports 141 New Dengue Cases Across Punjab

LAHORE: The Punjab Health Department said on Saturday that it reported around 141 new dengue cases across the province.

According to a spokesperson, Rawalpindi was the most affected area, with 129 cases, while Lahore, Jehlum, and Mianwali each recorded 3 cases.  Additionally, cases were also recorded from Attock, Bahawalpur, and Sahiwal, bringing the total number of dengue cases in the province to 2,389 for 2024.

A representative from the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department assured the public that all necessary measures are in place to manage the outbreak, with government hospitals fully stocked with medicines and treatments for dengue patients.

The Health Department has issued an advisory urging the public to keep their surroundings clean and dry to help curb the virus’s spread. Public cooperation is considered essential as health teams actively work throughout the province to address the situation.
