KARACHI: Karachi Kings’ fast bowler, Hasan Ali, has promised to win back the disappointed fans by delivering top-tier performances in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.
The Kings began their training camp on Monday ahead of PSL 10, with head coach Ravi Bopara and fast bowling coach Shaun Tait overseeing the preparations, according to A Sports.
In a media interaction, pacer Hasan Ali discussed the national team’s performance, emphasising the need for quality cricket to reignite fans’ passion and bring them back to the stadiums.
“When the national team underperforms, it impacts franchise cricket too. We need to play excellent cricket to bring back the disappointed fans,” he said.
“Crucial for young talent”
Hasan also highlighted the significance of PSL for both emerging talents and senior players.
“This platform [PSL] is crucial for grooming young talent. For senior players, good performances in the PSL could help them make a return to the national team,” he added.
The fast bowler expressed confidence in the team’s preparations for the tournament, praising the experience of the new head coach, Ravi Bopara.
“There are many new things in Karachi Kings this year, and we are hopeful for the best results. Ravi Bopara has a wealth of experience, which will be beneficial for us,” said Hasan.
Reflecting on his work with Shaun Tait, the Gujranwala-born bowler encouraged his teammates to contribute to the success of the league.
Strong return
“I’ve worked with Shaun Tait in the Pakistan team for a year, and he’s very good at what he does. PSL has reached its 10th year, and I hope all franchise players will help make this event a success by performing at their best,” said Hasan.
The 30-year-old bowler aims to make a strong return to the national team with consistent performances.
“I was the highest wicket-taker last year, and I want to do well this season to earn a place back in the national team,” he concluded.
PSL 10 is set to kick off on 11 April 2025, with the opening match featuring defending champions Islamabad United against two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
