ISLAMABAD: Karachi Kings’ pace bowler Hasan Ali made history in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Tuesday by equalling the record for the most wickets in the tournament’s history, previously held by Peshawar Zalmi’s former skipper Wahab Riaz.
The fiery seamer reached the milestone during Karachi’s fixture against Lahore Qalandars at the National Bank Stadium, where he delivered a superb spell, claiming 4 for 28 in his four overs.
Hasan dismissed Mohammad Naeem (7), Abdullah Shafique (6), Fakhar Zaman (76 off 47), and England’s Sam Billings (19 off 10) to complete his four-wicket haul.
This performance brought his total tally to 113 wickets in the PSL, drawing him level with Wahab Riaz at the top of the league’s all-time wicket-takers list.

What makes Hasan’s feat all the more impressive is that he achieved it in just 83 innings—four fewer than Wahab, who reached the same number in 87 innings.
Most Wickets in PSL History:
Hasan Ali: 113 wickets in 83 innings
Wahab Riaz: 113 wickets in 87 innings
Shaheen Shah Afridi: 107 wickets in 74 innings
Shadab Khan: 96 wickets in 85 innings
Faheem Ashraf: 79 wickets in 72 innings
The 30-year-old has made an excellent start to this PSL campaign, claiming five wickets in his first two matches.
Despite a slightly expensive outing against Multan Sultans, where he conceded 44 runs for a solitary wicket, Hasan bounced back in style with a stellar performance against the Qalandars.
