ISLAMABAD: Hasan Ali is enjoying an outstanding run of form in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, currently topping the bowling charts for Karachi Kings with 13 wickets in six matches.

The seasoned fast bowler, who recently became the highest wicket-taker in PSL history, has been instrumental in Karachi’s campaign, consistently delivering impactful performances.

In an interview with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s digital platform on Tuesday, Hasan expressed his satisfaction with his performances thus far.

“It’s always rewarding to contribute with wickets, especially when it benefits the team,” said the 30-year-old.

“I’m pleased with how things are progressing — leading the attack for Karachi Kings after six matches is something I take great pride in,” he added.

Hasan attributed his success to a return to basics and improved personal discipline.

“I haven’t made any drastic changes, but I’ve focused on refining the fundamentals of my bowling. I’ve also worked hard on my fitness and diet, which has had a noticeable impact this season,” he explained.

Vice-captain of Karachi Kings

Serving as Karachi Kings’ vice-captain, Hasan has embraced the additional responsibility, calling it an honour.

“It’s a privilege to be the vice-captain of such a major franchise. Having David Warner in the squad is a tremendous boost — his experience and leadership are invaluable, particularly in helping the younger players grow. Credit to the PCB for securing his participation in the PSL,” he said.

Reflecting on the team’s narrow five-run defeat to Quetta Gladiators, the right-arm pacer admitted that complacency may have played a part.

“We were in control but perhaps relaxed too soon. In T20 cricket, momentum can swing rapidly,” he remarked.

Looking ahead, Hasan is hopeful of strong support from the stands when Karachi Kings take on arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars on 4 May.

“We relish playing in front of large crowds. Hopefully, the fans will turn out in big numbers and we can deliver a performance to match the occasion,” he concluded.
