RALEIGH, N.C.: Vice President Kamala Harris has announced a sweeping set of economic suggestions meant to reduce taxes and lower the cost of groceries as well as housing and other essentials items for many American nationals. “Look, the bills add up,” Harris declared, attempting to address the financial issues that are at the top of voters’ minds and that Donald Trump is trying to blame on her.

During a speech in the state of North Carolina, she said that “building up the middle class will be a major target of my presidency” as Harris promoted her plan for a ban on price gouging by food manufacturers and grocers. The Vice President also recommended $25,000 in down payment help for certain first-time homebuyers as well as tax incentives for builders of starter houses.

Kamala Harris stressed tax breaks for families, middle and lower-income people, pledging to extend the child tax credit to up to $3,600 and $6,000 for kids in their first year of life. She wants to expand the earned income tax credit to cover people in lower-income jobs without kids which the campaign estimates would reduce their effective tax rate by $1,500 and lower health insurance premiums through the Affordable Care Act. According to media reports, overall, the plans represent a continuation of Biden administration priorities. Harris is not looking for any radical departures from Biden, who stepped down from the race last month and endorsed his Vice President.
