GAZA CITY: Hamas’ armed wing, the Al Qassam Brigades, on Sunday claimed to have successfully targeted a location in the central Gaza Strip where “60 Israeli soldiers were positioned.” The attack reportedly involved the placement of three anti-personnel explosives, which were detonated in the vicinity of tents east of the Juhor ad-Dik region.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Al Qassam Brigades stated that the attack was specifically aimed at Israeli soldiers who survived the initial explosions. As of now, there has been no official response from the Israeli government regarding the claim made by the militant group.

Hamas Claims Causing Significant Casualties to Israeli Soldiers

According to the Al-Qassam Brigades, their fighters identified dozens of occupation soldiers (60 soldiers) inside tents at a point east of Juhor ad-Dik. Three anti-personnel explosive devices were strategically placed and detonated, causing significant casualties among the Israeli soldiers.

The statement noted that one of the fighters advanced to deal with the remaining force members before safely withdrawing to their positions.

The Israeli army had resumed bombing the Gaza Strip on Friday, ending a week-long humanitarian pause declared earlier. The recent escalation by Israeli forces since October 7 has killed more than 15,207 innocent Palestinians, mostly children and women.
