GAZA CITY: Palestinian resistance group Hamas on Sunday strongly condemned the wave of airstrikes conducted by the United States and the United Kingdom in Yemen.

Hamas warned that these attacks constitute a “blatant assault on the sovereignty of a sister Arab country” and will escalate tensions, bringing about “further turmoil” in the already volatile Middle East.

The airstrikes in Yemen occurred late Saturday, following a separate wave of unilateral American strikes in Iraq and Syria. Hamas criticized these actions, stating that they exacerbate the already heightened anger across the Middle East, particularly in light of Israel’s devastating campaign in Gaza.

Iran Condemns US, UK Strikes on Yemen

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanani, accused the United States and Britain of “fueling chaos, disorder, insecurity, and instability” by supporting Israel. Kanani pointed out the contradiction between the strikes on Yemen and the repeated claims from Washington and London that they do not seek the expansion of war and conflict in the region.
