Gaza City: The Hamas government on Friday said that an Israeli strike on Gaza’s largest hospital killed 13 people.

The government in a statement said that 13 people were killed and dozens other injured in an Israeli strike on Al-Shifa compound in central Gaza City today.

Al-Shifa hospital director Mohammad Abu Salmiya told media that Israeli tanks fired on Al-Shifa hospital.

Mohammed Zaqout, director-general of Gaza hospitals has said they are going through a catastrophic situation without food, electricity and water.

He added they are cannot provide services to the injured while Israel is continuously bombing the hospitals.

He went to say that tens of thousands of displaced people taking shelter in the hospitals are at risk who are exposed to Israeli aerial bombing and direct artillery fire.

Israel on Thursday reported heavy fighting near the hospital.

The Israeli army has blamed Hamas of using hospitals, particularly Al-Shifa, to launch their attacks against the army.  Hamas authorities and doctors reject the allegations.

Israel damaging natural resources in occupied Palestine

Meanwhile, a U.N. panel has voted to adopt a resolution, by a large majority, demanding Israel to cease exploitation, damage, cause of loss or depletion and endangerment of the natural resources in occupied Palestine and in the occupied Syrian Golan.

Explaining his support to the resolution, the deputy permanent representative of Pakistan to the UN, Usman Jadoon, said that it was an expression of solidarity with the brave people of Palestine enduring unrelenting oppression from the Israeli occupation forces.

The Pakistani envoy in his remarks, also said that the draft is another reminder of the multifaceted impact of repressive Israeli policies, denying the right to self-determination and impacting economic rights of the occupied.

Israeli strikes in Gaza have so far killed 11,000 Palestinians, including women and children, while others are facing starvation and struggling to survive, with essential supplies blockaded.
