GAZA: Hamas said on Wednesday that 7 hostages including three foreigners were killed in Israel’s barbaric bombing of Gaza’s largest refugee camp, Western media reported.

“Seven hostages were killed in the Jabalia massacre on Tuesday, including 3 holders of foreign passports,” Hamas said. Earlier, Hamas announced that “about 50” hostages had been killed in earlier Israeli airstrikes. Israel claims that about 240 hostages were taken when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh accused Israel of committing massacres to cover its own defeats in Gaza war.  He said that Israel is committing brutal massacres against unarmed civilian population in Gaza.

He cited the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, increased settler violence and strikes on holy sites including the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He also stressed that there will be no regional stability unless Palestinians obtain their legal rights to independence, freedom, and return.

As per media reports, over 100 innocent Palestinian civilians were martyred, and several injured as brutal Israeli forces struck apartment blocks in a residential area of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, according to Gaza’s interior ministry. The attack, which caused extensive damage and casualties, has intensified the already dire situation in the region.

The director of the nearby Indonesian Hospital confirmed that at least 100 people lost their lives as a result of the Israeli attack on the refugee camp, underlining the scale of the tragedy faced by the Palestinian residents of Jabalia camp.

Guterres called the current level of humanitarian assistance allowed into Gaza “completely inadequate and not commensurate with the needs of the people,” renewing his plea for a humanitarian ceasefire. He urged the UN Security Council to support such a ceasefire, emphasizing that it could be the first step toward finding a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has long been neglected in the pursuit of lasting peace in the region.
