GAZA: Hamas accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of deceiving the international community particularly United States after his address to the US Congress, in which he called for expedited military aid for Israel.
In their statement, Hamas claimed that Netanyahu’s remarks about intensified efforts to return hostages were false and aimed at misleading both Israeli and international public opinion particularly US.
They accused Netanyahu of thwarting all efforts to end the ongoing conflict and negotiate a prisoner release deal. Despite continuous mediation efforts by Egypt and Qatar, Hamas alleged that Netanyahu’s actions have obstructed any potential resolution.
Netanyahu’s speech to Congress emphasized the need for increased military support to combat threats from Hamas and other militant groups. He portrayed the conflict as part of a larger struggle for security and stability in the region, seeking to garner international backing for Israel’s military efforts.
Hamas’s statement reflects the deep-seated tensions and mistrust between the group and the Israeli government, highlighting the complex and fraught nature of negotiations involving hostages and conflict resolution. The involvement of Egypt and Qatar as mediators underscores the regional dimension of the conflict and the international community’s role in seeking a resolution.
The situation remains highly volatile, with both sides entrenched in their positions, making any potential resolution challenging. The international community continues to watch closely as efforts to mediate and end the conflict persist.
