MAKKAH: More than 238,000 Hajj pilgrims benefited from the cart services provided this year by the Saudi General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, which deployed over 400 electric carts and 8,000 manual carts to facilitate movement within the holy sites.
The authority revealed that more than 238,000 Hajj pilgrims benefited from the cart services this year, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
To ensure smooth and safe movement within the holy sites, dedicated lanes were designated for electric vehicles, helping to avoid disruptions to pedestrian traffic and improve overall crowd management.
Specialised maintenance teams were also deployed to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of electric trolleys.
This initiative is part of a wider strategy to boost operational efficiency in asset and facility management, utilising smart technologies to enhance service delivery and support data-driven decision-making throughout the Hajj season.
