PESHAWAR: Seven teachers were killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen at a high school in Upper Kurram Tehsil, a district in Pakistan’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Thursday.
The teachers were performing their exam duties when they were shot. The police are searching for the perpetrators but have not yet apprehended anyone. Emergency measures have been imposed in all hospitals in the area.

In another incident in the same district, a teacher named Mohammad Sharif was shot and killed while travelling on Shalozan Road. The total number of educators killed in the attacks rose to eight.
Following the incidents, the ongoing matric exams were postponed.
President Alvi condemns school attack
President Dr Arif Alvi condemned the attack, saying that the enemies of education are responsible for the violence. The president expressed his grief over the deaths of the teachers and hoped that the perpetrators would be punished according to the law.
President Alvi also offered his condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for their elevation to paradise.
