GUJRAT, India: In a recent assembly session in the Indian state of Gujarat, Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi proudly declared the demolition of more than 100 shrines, attributing the initiative to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s administration.

Sanghvi labeled the sudden appearance of these structures as a conspiracy and emphasized the removal of encroachments around significant sites like Somnath.

Sanghvi’s statements have stirred controversy, with critics pointing out a perceived bias in targeting Muslim structures while overlooking Hindu ones. The remarks reflect a broader trend of religious tensions and government actions in the state, raising concerns about communal harmony and minority rights.
