RIYADH: Renowned scientists from worldwide met Saudi Arabia’s scientists of the future and students on Wednesday and shared their experiences in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics, as part of Mawhiba’s “Eyes on the Future” initiative.

The scientists included Nobel Prize winner and Swiss astronomer Didier Queloz, Fadji Zaouna Maina from Nigeria, and Colombian structural biologist Edna Matta-Camacho. Didier Queloz said that the work of a scientist never ends.
He said that he realized that they need more to discover. Saudi Arabia’s scientists also attended the event.
Nazeeh Alothmany, the organization’s deputy secretary general of corporate relations and business development, in his opening remarks said at Mawhiba they continuously aspire to aid talent and novelty, as they are the pillars of flourishing young minds.

Saudi officials say they are investing billions in the sector of technology as a key component in the transformation of the country as per the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 blueprint for diversification and development.
The aim of Wednesday’s event is to encourage the international exchange of knowledge and experiences. Mawhiba is a non-profit organization that aims to identify talented and gifted students in the fields of science in Saudi Arabia.
