ISLAMABAD/ MAKKAH: Groups of children carried out a tour of the Grand Mosque arranged by the General Presidency looking after the affairs of the two greatest holy mosques of Islam.
According to the Arab News, youngsters from the Al-Fikr, Al-Mawaheb and Al-Abna Al-Nujabaa School Centres were shown the Kaaba and they performed Tawaf.
According to Noof Housawi, a representative of the presidency’s media affairs, said that the tour was designed for the educational experience of the children.
Tour to the Grand Mosque
During the tour, the children were apprised of the etiquette to enter the Grand Masjid, stories of the prophets and interactive activities to enrich children’s knowledge and advance the educational system for females.
A female reciter of the Holy Quran led sessions on the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah, mentioning its virtues and importance. The children also recited a verse from the Holy Quran.
In Saudi Arabia, schools conduct field trips to the two Grand Mosques, museums and historical sites. In Makkah, children also get a chance to participate in activities related to the service of the pilgrims and Umrah performers.
They also benefit from the sanctity of the place and carry out voluntary work.
