RIYADH: Officials said on Sunday that the Grand Mosque in Makkah boasts one hundred and twenty areas for prayer and twelve thousands containers of Zamzam water in order to help ensure a very comfortable visit for pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan.

Workers at the location have worked 24 hours on the 3rd Northern expansion in order to make the Grand Mosque as hospitable as for the pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan. New additions will help pilgrims include several allocated doors for exit and entry.

He said that the roof level will also be used for the first time to facilitate more visitors during the holy month of Ramadan. He added that 26 elevators have been installed in the Grand Mosque with the support of authorities.

He maintained: “The praying areas of the grand mosque have been provided with twenty-two thousands carpets and more than twelve thousands containers of Zamzam water.”

Pilgrims to the Grand Mosque will also be given the opportunity to learn more regarding the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) after an initiative by the presidency to further enrich the experience of those visiting the holy site during the month of Ramadan.
