MAKKAH: The Saudi General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has initiated a project to number all gates within the Second Saudi Expansion of the Grand Mosque.
The comprehensive project involves the installation of 92 distinct gate-number signs throughout the expansion area, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
Designed to harmonize with the mosque’s architectural identity, the new project is intended to enhance the aesthetic environment while providing a crucial practical function for the millions of worshippers and Umrah performers who visit annually.
The authority stated that this initiative reflects its commitment to blending functionality with the sacred site’s revered atmosphere. By clearly marking entry points, the project aims to significantly improve crowd management and ease of movement.
For visitors, noting a gate number upon entry will now provide a simple and reliable way to navigate the sprawling complex, particularly during peak prayer times and the busy Umrah season.
This project is part of a broader effort to elevate the quality of services at the Grand Mosque, ensuring a smoother, safer, and more spiritually focused experience for all worshippers.
