MAKKAH: The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque has deployed a total of 1,028 employees at the Grand Mosque’s 118 doors designated to receive Umrah performers and visitors during the holy month of Ramazan.

The Presidency, represented by the Gates Department at the Grand Holy Mosque, said the measure is aimed at ensuring high-quality services and smooth entry and exit movement at the Grand Mosque of Makkah.

Fahd bin Sharaz Al-Malki, Director of the Gates Department at the Grand Holy Mosque, noted the Grand Mosque’s 118 gates include three gates dedicated to the entry of Umrah performers, 68 for worshipers, and 50 for emergencies to back up the 40 internal gates of the Mosque.

Al-Malki added the names and numbers of gates at the Grand Holy Mosque help visitors in recognizing the entrance gates as well as facilitate their exit while also helping monitors execute the instructions more efficiently, including keeping track of the entry of luggage, food, and other prohibited items, which helps keep the Holy Mosque clean, and perform the worship with comfort and tranquility. — SPA/APP
