LAHORE: Punjab is set to introduce the grading system in the educational institutions of the province so that students’ true capabilities can be set at an international standard instead of students’ race to get higher marks.
Higher Education Minister Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz said during the meeting of the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) that the examination boards of the province are starting a grading system. It will help in getting rid of the race of students among students.
He added that the provincial government was adhering to a comprehensive policy to promote education in the province. Implementation of various suggestions has been launched regarding improving educational boards’ performance.
Raja Yassir stresses eliminating the rote system from the educational system. He said there was no lack of talent in Pakistan, but our educational system cannot judge students’ capabilities better.
He further said that students from Matric up to Master levels are in the race to get marks because of which their creative and academic abilities cannot be determined in a true sense.
Raja Yassir further said the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen has also decided to bring a grading system instead of marks across Pakistan. It will help in judging the true abilities of hardworking students.
