ISLAMABAD: Dr. Nadeem Jan, the acting federal health minister, declared on Tuesday that the interim administration was committed to vigorously carrying out a specific emergency response plan to eradicate polio in the country and reach children in remote regions.

Speaking to a private television channel, he stated that the polio vaccination programme in rural and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) was a key factor in the country’s sharp decline in polio infections. He continued, “All the provinces would ask to pay special attention to ensure that the polio program reaches every child.”

According to him, the Ministry of Health actively participates in the polio program and will ensure it stays at the forefront of our efforts.

In answer to a query, he stated that the current administration would continue to have zero tolerance for failing to provide patients in government hospitals with high-quality medications. He added that our primary goal is to enhance the system.

“We are working to increase the standard of modern healthcare services nationwide and their availability, accessibility, and cost,” He added.

The health minister continued by saying that the administration is working nonstop to strengthen the health industry. —APP
