ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that “The government will announce the historic farmers package next week for the development of the agricultural sector”.
The Prime Minister directed the committee of ministers concerned to come up with actionable recommendations as soon as possible to solve problems of farmers in collaboration with the farmers’ representatives.
In the light of these recommendations, the Prime Minister expressed his determination to provide all possible relief in view of the current economic conditions to ensure the development of the agricultural sector in the country and the welfare of the farmers.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif held separate meetings with various delegations of farmers to resolve their problems in which he has described agriculture as the backbone of the country’s economy, and called it very important for the socio-economic development of the country.
The Prime Minister reminded him of the steps taken for the development of the agricultural sector and the welfare of the farmer brothers as his servant of Punjab, how he always protected the interests of the farmers, and provided them with electricity. Provided subsidy on payment of bills, supply of fertilizers and purchase of agricultural implements.
