ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif has postponed the all-parties conference (APC) scheduled for February 7 (tomorrow) following the recent wave of terrorism in the country, particularly in the provinces of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.
Initially scheduled for February 7, the conference will now be held on February 9. Both the PMs House and the Parliament House have been recommended as the locations for the conference. Reportedly, Federal Minister Ayaz Sadiq is in contact with different political parties, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to attend the moot convened to discuss challenges being faced by the country.
Conference objective
The conference’s main objective is to draft a joint policy and declaration against the menace of terrorism, with representatives from all political parties setting together to discuss and agree on a joint stance against the growing threat.
