ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said the government is mulling over banning the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and parliament will be approached before making a final decision.
“The attack on military installations was the last resort of former prime minister Imran Khan,” he said while talking to media persons in Islamabad.
Khawaja Asif said that the events of May 9 were not accidental and that there was a complete plan behind them. “The PTI has challenged the state. Imran Khan had nefarious intentions that an Indian agency could have against Pakistan,” he said.
Khawaja Asif said that Imran Khan made Pakistan’s army a party in the power war. What was the crime that did not happen on May 9? There is no precedence for such incidents in the past. India will be most joyful for sabotaging institutions. An attempt was made to waste the sacrifices of the martyrs.”
He said that Imran Khan is a renegade, a ban on the PTI is being reviewed and if a decision is taken to ban the PTI, then parliament will be approached.
