ISLAMABAD: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, announced on Tuesday the implementation of a stringent monitoring system for private Hajj tour operators starting in 2024.
The primary objective is to enhance the convenience of pilgrims and to facilitate this, a smart app has been introduced to register pilgrim complaints efficiently.
In discussions with a private channel, he directed the Ministries of Religious Affairs and Information Technology to develop a mobile application and website to streamline registering complaints from Hujjaj (pilgrims).
He emphasized that pilgrims can easily download the smart pilgrim app, offering services on their smartphones, including communicating with their respective Hajj service providers to report violations or file complaints.
Furthermore, Ahmed highlighted that the Hajj directorate is committed to delivering comprehensive training and amenities to pilgrims, ensuring a smooth and trouble-free Hajj experience.
He warned private tour operators that stringent actions would be taken against any reported violations. He urged individuals and companies to refrain from engaging in any illegal activities.
In closing, Ahmed assured that the ministry would personally oversee all aspects of Hajj arrangements this year, working tirelessly to guarantee a comfortable and hassle-free experience for all pilgrims.
