Google Unveils Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro with Tensor G3 Chips, Android 14, and Upgraded Camera

NEW YORK: Google, in a highly anticipated event on Wednesday, unveiled its flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. These devices feature the innovative Tensor G3 chipset, Android 14, and significant upgrades to their camera systems.

The standout feature of these smartphones is the Tensor G3 chipset, equipped with a powerful 9-core processor, comprising a single Cortex-X3 prime core, four Cortex-A715 cores, and another four Cortex-A510 cores. The Pixel 8 boasts 8GB of RAM, while the Pro model elevates it to 12GB. Both phones come with IP68 water and dust resistance ratings, along with advanced security features like fingerprint and face unlock.

The Pixel 8 Pro showcases a stunning 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO OLED display, offering an impressive 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,400 nits. This display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and comes in three stylish colors: Blue, Obsidian, and Beige. On its rear, the Pixel 8 Pro houses a remarkable camera setup, including a 50MP Octa-PD wide shooter with OIS, a new 48MP Quad-PD ultrawide lens, and a 48MP Quad-PD 5x zoom camera capable of 30X Super-Res digital zoom. The phone also features a unique skin temperature sensor for specialized temperature readings.

The pricing for the 128GB Google Pixel 8 starts at €799/$699, while the 128GB Google Pixel 8 Pro is priced at €1,099/$999.
