Google Honors Women with Colourful Doodle

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California:  The US based multinational corporation and technology company, Google has honored women with a special doodle on the occasion of the International Women’s Day (IWD).

The day is being observed across the globe on Friday.

Google is known for creating interesting doodles on the occasion of various cultural and social events internationally.

The doodle on International Women’s Day, highlights a group of women sharing wisdom across generations within a cloth embroidered with symbols of women progress.

Google in a post on the occasion said the doodle rejoices International Women’s Day and all the progress that has been made towards gender equality.

The International Women’s Day (IWD) was observed first time on 8th March 1975, at the United Nations.

IWD rallies across the world today focus on issues like gender, racial and wage gaps, reproductive rights, and the prevention of violence against women.

Today, people celebrate women who have made enormous contributions to transform societies, fought for equality, and set positive examples for people everywhere in the world.

The Google Doodle is used by the search engine on its homepage to celebrate special occasions.

The technology company also known for using doodles to celebrate prominent people and their achievements.
