Golden Jubilee Celebrations: AIOU to Hold International Conference on Arabic

ISLAMABAD: In celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), a two-day international conference titled “Modern Trends in The Arabic Novel in the 2nd Half of the 20th Century” is set to take place next week.

According to the details, scheduled for December 13 and 14, the conference has attracted the participation of over 50 international scholars who have submitted their papers, with 13 selected for presentation.

The opening session on December 13 will be presided over by AIOU’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Nasir Mahmood, and will kick off at 10:00 a.m. During this session, Dr. Mohyuddin Hashmi, the Dean of the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies, will elucidate the aims and objectives of the conference.

There will be two parallel sessions held on both days. Dr. Hashmi envisions this conference as a pivotal milestone in advancing the promotion of the Arabic language.
Dr. Nasir underscores the significance of Arabic as the language of the Holy Quran, emphasizing its vastness and sweetness. He encourages every Pakistani to learn this language, highlighting its cultural and religious importance.
