LOS ANGELES: A number of celebrities have contracted Covid-19 virus, following their appearance at the Golden Globes.

Several stars, including Michelle Pfeiffer, Brendan Gleeson, Collin Farrell, and Jamie Lee Curtis said they had contracted the virus in the days following the awards ceremony.

The Critics Choice Awards, aired on Sunday, required the Covid tests for attendees as the list of dropouts swelled. Forced to sit out, few celebrities chimed in over social media platforms. “I’m so sorry missing the Critics Choice Awards today,” Pfeiffer wrote at Instagram. “Yep, Covid,” he added.

Golden Globes and Covid-19 infections

Michelle Pfeiffer lamented missing the Critics Choice Awards due to Covid-19 infection after showing up at the Golden Globes. Curtis also expressed her grievances on the social media platform saying, “Sadly, this head cheerleader is not going to be at all the weekend festivities cheering on her friends and colleagues. Life on life’s terms.”

While Curtis sat out sick, her co-stars in Everything Everywhere All at Once took home 5 awards, including Best Picture. Covid-19 safety precautions like mask requirements, testing, and vaccination have been inconsistent this awards season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
